American Women's Club of Perth
Welcome to AWCPerth.org

HISTORY PAGE

Our club began in 1968 when a few American women came together with a vision. The vision became the AWCPerth and has continued for almost 40 years.

What Does the AWC Do?

The Club promotes fellowship between American women and Australians to help close the culture gap while living in Australia. We have a combination of evening and day socials to cater for every member's needs. These are usually held on the first Tuesday of the month. Some of the activities we include in our program are:

4th July Picnic  with a traditional American fare (i.e. hot dogs, beer & children's games). A great family day for all. 1999 had over 800 people attend this great event even though it was one of the rainiest days Perth has seen.

Halloween Party for adults and organized Trick or Treating  for our children. In 2000, over 180 people turned out for the TRUNK or TREAT!

Easter Egg Hunt held at various venues with a very Big Easter Bunny and real easter eggs.

Thanksgiving Dinner with all the traditional trimmings, such as  yummy pumpkin pies, corn bread and succulent turkey.

December Holiday tradition is that we get together and exchange Christmas decorations and cookies at a festive party.  In the last few years we have also donated some gifts for children that spend Christmas in a Women's Shelter.

Founder's Day Lunch  in September to mark the anniversary of the founding of our Club. At these luncheons we hand out pins to our long standing members.

In 2007 our Craft Fair was back with a big flair... An American Food Festival as well. This event was fabulous and will be held most years in October.
